Why You Need a Glossary and How to Align Entities
What a glossary does
- Unifies definitions: reduces ambiguity and inconsistent phrasing across pages.
- Creates stable relationships: one entity, one canonical URL, one preferred anchor.
- Lowers understanding cost: makes it easier for systems to map concepts to meaning.
How to implement entity alignment
- List your top 10–30 entities: products, tools, methods, and core concepts.
- Create one definition page per entity with scope, aliases, examples, and non-examples.
- Standardize anchor text site-wide and avoid empty anchors like “click here.”
- Make links bidirectional: content links to definitions, and definitions link to the best guides and FAQs.
Start from the Glossary and expand gradually.
